Quality Operations (QO) Lab Expansion & Renovation

To help our client accommodate new product testing and office optimization for life-changing vaccines, Genesis led a successful turnkey project, showcasing our expertise in providing comprehensive solutions. We managed the expansion of an existing Quality Operations (QO) Lab, handling design, equipment procurement, and commissioning. The result was a 16,000 sq. ft., 3-story steel structure with a fully insulated metal panel skin, that contains two floors of new lab space, an autoclave, a glass washer, as well as office space and a mechanical penthouse to support ongoing operational needs.

Our work extended to interior renovations across two interconnected buildings, including a sterility lab upgrade. Our team replaced soft-walled isolators with four hard-walled isolators, seamlessly integrating them into the project scope. We also optimized existing office spaces and managed equipment procurement through our Asset Management services team.

Despite challenges posed by the pandemic, our team adeptly transitioned to virtual design and construction review until on-site work was feasible. This resilience culminated in the project receiving the 2022 Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) Construction Industry Project Excellence (CIPE) Award.

Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our pursuit of LEED Silver certification, while our achievement of the Universal Design distinction underscores our dedication to inclusivity.

Genesis’ success in this project attests to our ability to navigate complexities, foster innovation, and surpass expectations, further solidifying our reputation as an industry leader.
