Stephen M. Hall, PE, is the Chief Process Engineer at Genesis AEC, where he provides global technical leadership in the design of high-performance manufacturing processes for the life sciences industry. A licensed Professional Engineer (NJ) with a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Drexel University, Steve bridges the gap between complex engineering theory and operational readiness. His distinguished 40-year career includes senior roles with global manufacturers, including GSK, Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), and MannKind, as well as leading engineering consultancies such as AMEC and Quantic.

A globally recognized authority in process engineering, Steve is the author of the industry-standard textbook, “Rules of Thumb for Chemical Engineers” (Elsevier), and a primary contributor to the ISPE Guide: ATMPs – Allogeneic Cell Therapy. His technical insights are frequently published in leading journals such as Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering Progress. Elected as a Fellow of the AIChE in 2025 and named the 2025 ISPE International Member of the Year, Steve is the architect behind advanced simulation tools like PharmaWater Pro®. He is a frequent speaker at global forums, including ISPE and AIChE national meetings, where he shares expertise on unit operations, process simulation, and science-first facility design.
